Beauty and the Beast, an original musical by Michael Sgouros and Brenda Bell, first opened Off-Broadway on February 10, 2013 at the Players Theatre located at 115 MacDougal Street, in the West Village of NYC.  Revivals of Beauty and the Beast also appeared at the Players Theatre in 2016, 2019, and 2023.

Runtime: 75 minutes with no intermission

Seating

Although there are really no bad seats in our 174 – seat house we offer reserved seating. You may select your seat when purchasing tickets or ask for best available – so please book early!

You may purchase tickets at the door the day of the show 30 minutes prior to the workshop. The theatre box office accepts cash and credit cards.

We cannot take reservations at our production office, however, if you have any questions about the show, please feel free to email our Artistic Director – Brenda Bell at [email protected] and she will be happy to help you. Check out our frequently asked questions section below first.

Remember: A theatre performance makes a great birthday party!

Advanced ticket purchases are strongly advised. All shows have limited seating and are limited engagements that cannot be extended.

Are the seats elevated on tiers? Yes.

How many seats are in the theatre? 180-200.

Is there assigned seating? Yes, your seats are assigned in the order your ticket purchase was received or you may select your seats upon purchase.

Where do I pickup my tickets? You will pick up your ticket at the theatre box office. The box office opens one-half hour prior to the workshop. Or, you may show your digital ticket upon arriving.

Are there age restrictions? No, all ages are welcome – see individual show pages for specific recommendations. All we ask is if your child gets fussy — please step out into the lobby. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12.

Is there a charge for babies? Any child under the age of 2 who sits on an adults lap my attend the show free of charge.

Can I bring a stroller? Strollers are not allowed in the theatre or workshop area – but you can park it safely in our designated “stroller parking lot”.

Where is the workshop held? The pre-show arts workshop is held in one of our rehearsal studios on the 2nd floor. Please go to the box office first and you will be directed.

Do the parents attend the workshop? Absolutely! You wouldn’t want to miss the fun. And the workshop is included with your ticket.

How long is the workshop? The workshop is approximately 45 minutes long and ends about 10 minutes prior to the start of the show – which gives you time to use the restrooms and find your seats in the theatre.

What happens in the workshop? You will meet members of the cast and staff who begin by discussing how we turned the book into a show. We’ll also discuss the message of the story. Then everyone gets a chance to make an art project. To learn more, visit our Interactive Family Workshop page!

How long is the show? The shows are generally 50-70 minutes in length with no intermission. See individual show pages for specific timing.

How many actors are in the show? There are generally 7-12 very talented adult actors and a children’s chorus.

Are the actors’ adults or children? All the actors are professional adult performers with an additional children’s chorus in some shows.

Is there live music? Yes, we are delighted to offer live music with Broadway quality musicians.

Is there dancing in the show? Yes, we love the art of dance!

What is the production like? The show is performed on a full professional stage. You’ll enjoy a beautiful set and you’ll love the costumes too!

Is there a dress code? If you are planning on attending the pre-show arts workshop we suggest you dress comfortably and casually. We want you to relax and have a good time.

Can we buy any food at the theatre? The theatre is surrounded by wonderful cafes and restaurants but please remember there is no eating in the theatre.
