THE STORY
Beauty and the Beast the Musical
There once was a young girl named Beauty who didn’t seem to fit in. Her nose was always stuck in a book and unlike her sisters; she wasn’t looking for a Prince Charming to rescue her.
When Beauty’s Papa Maurice goes on a trip, he becomes lost in the woods. Finding a castle, he helps himself to warmth, a banquet of food…and a rose.
Maurice soon finds himself at the mercy of an angry Beast, who is livid that Papa plucked one of his roses. When he discovers Maurice has daughters, he makes Maurice a deal – he must deliver one of his daughters to live with the Beast forever. In exchange, he will let Maurice go.
When she learns what has happened to her father, Beauty volunteers to go live with the Beast in order to save her father’s life – and to have an adventure of her own.
At the castle, Beauty discovers there is magic in the air…and around every corner. The statues seem to move, and food appears on the banquet table as though it were enchanted. She dreams of a magical Fairy, and gets to know the Beast, who turns out to be much more gentle than she would have imagined.
